The Thai Contemporary Concept used in the design of THAI’s new aircraft interior applies
wood materials that are used as slats. Passengers are able to experience a warm and
relaxing environment when they enter the passenger cabin. Parts of the cabin area are

THAI’s new aircraft interior was designed based on the Thai Contemporary Concept so that passengers may experience inflight comfort with the ease of new modern technology. Star Alliance, the world’s longest serving and most comprehensive airline alliance, has expanded its Round-the-World (RTW) fare to include travel in Premium Economy Class.
“With eleven of our member carriers now offering a dedicated Premium Economy cabin, we are pleased to offer our customers the opportunity to make use of this extra comfort on their Round-the-World travels,” said Horst Findeisen, VP Commercial and Business Development at Star Alliance.
In line with the overall RTW product, the Premium Economy Class fare is offered in three mileage bands: 29,000, 34,000 or 39,000 miles.
Putting the mileage levels into perspective, the circumference of the Earth measured at the Equator is approximately 24,900 miles. The new fare can now be booked for travel in the Premium Economy cabins on the following airlines:

Mr. Charamporn Jotikasthira, THAI President, said that in light of the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) public posting a red flag today on Thailand’s Department of Civil Aviation (Thai DCA), as a result of the findings during the ICAO Universal Safety Oversight Audit Program (USOAP) and the issuance of a Significant Safety Concern (SSC), Thai Airways International wants to reassure the travelling public that THAI operates with the highest safety standards in all operational areas.
“A significant safety concern (SSC) does not necessarily indicate a particular safety deficiency in the air navigation service providers, airlines (air operators), aircraft or aerodrome; but, rather, indicates that the State is not providing sufficient safety oversight to ensure the effective implementation of applicable ICAO Standards,” ICAO.

Following the earthquake in Kathmandu, Nepal on 25 April 2015, which resulted in injuries, death, and damage to property, Mr. Wiwat Piyawiroj, Vice President, Sales and Distribution – Thailand and Indochina Department, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), said that THAI will waive the ticket change fee for passengers traveling to and from Kathmandu, Nepal, whose tickets were issued prior to 25 April 2015 and will travel during 25 April to 15 May 2015.
