On the evening of 5 October 2012, Mr. Pandit Chanapai, Executive Vice President of Commercial of Thai Airways, accepted the TTG Travel Awards 2012 for Best SouthEast Asian Airline and Best Airline Business Class at the 23rd Annual TTG Travel Awards 2012 Ceremony and Gala Dinner. The event was held at the Centara Grand & Bangkok Conventions Centre at Central World, where approximately 500 guests and award recipients were in attendance.
The TTG Travel Awards are Asia Pacific’s most prestigious awards ceremony for the travel trade industry which returned for the 23rd time since 1989 to laud the crème de la crème of the industry.

THAI’s award categories were voted by industry professionals, in which the annual TTG Travel Awards recognises and honours the finest luminaries in Asia-Pacific’s travel industry who have consistently shown strong commitment towards service excellence. Categories in the TTG Travel Awards include Travel Agents, Outstanding Achievements, Best Airlines, and Best Hotels.
With that said, and to be more specific, this annual event honoured stellar organisations and individuals in four categories: (1) Travel Supplier Awards, (2) Travel Agency Awards, (3) Outstanding Achievement Awards and (4) the Travel Hall of Fame Award.
It’s noted that TTG Travel Awards serves as an indicator for exemplary standards, and consequently, shifts in trends and developments in the travel industry.
Best hotels are given awards from Best Global Hotel Chain to Best Budget Hotels. Travel agency awards include Australia, China, Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Indochina (Cambodia, Laos), Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Singapore. Thailand, The Philippines and Vietnam.
Awards don’t stop here, There’s the Outstanding Achievement Awards and the Travel Hall of Fame Award,
In summing up I can say it was a pretty busy evening and Thai Airways walked away with two top awards, for Best Southeast Asian Airline and Best Airline Business Class. That is something to be proud about.
